Obituary For Jacola Johnson Berry

Mrs. Jacola Johnson Berry, 70, died Thursday October 14, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Services for Mrs. Berry were Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Sweetwater C. M. E. Church, Prentiss, with Pastor Charlton Johnson Officiating and Rev. LyCedrick Johnson rendering the moving eulogy. Interment was in the Sweetwater C. M. E. Church Cemetery, with Laird Mortuary in charge of all arrangements.

Mrs. Berry was the daughter of the late Simon and Arcola Johnson. Mrs. Berry served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a devoted member of Sweetwater C. M. E. and as a Usher.

Mrs. Berry attended Carver High School in Bassfield. Mrs. Berry was employed by the Jefferson Davis County School District at G. W. Carver as a cafeteria worker.

Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her parents Simon and Arcola Johnson, her husband Fred Berry, daughter Carolyn Johnson, brothers William Samuel and Joshua Johnson, Fervil Martin and sisters Jacqueline and Patrica Johnson. Mrs. Berry’s survivors include her daughter Shonita Johnson (Elaine) Shuford; five (5) sons, Stanley Johnson, Brannon (Catera) Johnson Sr., Shannon Johnson, Robert (LaTonya) Johnson, James (LaToya) Johnson, Whiteville, TN, Roderick (LaShanda) Johnson, Odessa, TX, special son Brannon Johnson Jr,; three (3) brothers, nine (9) sisters, special sister/friends Shirley Moody, Amy Island, and Linda Thompson; one (1) aunt; three (3) uncles; 24 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, love ones and friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Jacola Johnson Berry are Saturday, October 23, 2021. Services will be held at Sweet Water CME Church beginning at 2pm.

Visitation Services for Ms. Jacola Johnson are Friday October 22, 2021 from 1-7pm at Laird Mortuary Chapel
